Dear Students,
I created the Remind so that I can communicate with you a little easier. I will let you know when I add materials to the website. If you were in class on Friday, March 13, you have the Chapter 4 Review worksheets and Chapter 16 study guide. For those of you who were absent, you can get a copy by clicking on the assignments in the plans below. It is my hope that in the next four weeks, you will at least work your way through Chapter 16. I will work on updating the powerpoint for Chapter 16. I am undecided at this time as to whether I will add anything for Chapter 17. It is not my intention to load you up with a ton of work. The uncertainty of everything makes this a very difficult time for all of us. We all need to try to keep things in perspective. Your health, physical and mental, is what is most important. Spend time with family and the people you love. Follow the guidelines that have been set forth to slow the spread of the virus. Take some time to relax. Maybe clean your room lol. Try to make the best of it.
Remember, while we like to put a lot of pressure on you, you are not defined by a grade or by an AP or SAT score. Sometimes we forget that there are so many other things that are more important. For those of you that are concerned about testing, there is already talk of alternative test dates for the AP exam. I am sure the same will hold true for the SAT. If you would like to use this time to do some review, I will be putting some materials and videos on here. I am hoping that we can return on April 14, and in time, you can be honored for your achievements, have fun with classmates at prom, take pictures at graduation, give your final performance on stage, on the field, or on the track, or wherever that may be, and simply make more memories with your classmates. These are all things that you have worked so hard for and deserve. They are the things that I do not want taken from you. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. We will get through this. Be smart. Be safe. Wash your hands!

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all staying safe and finding ways to get through these crazy times. I wanted to update you on a few things regarding the last assignment that I gave you and the current status of AP testing. If you haven't already heard about the changes to the AP test, you can click on the link above. As it stands right now, College Board has announced that it will be giving the test online. Apparently the format will be FRQ's rather than multiple choice questions. It will cover College Board units 1-7. So what does that mean for us? The way things are changing everyday, I am not 100% sure. I know there are a lot of angry AP Psychology teachers, so I feel like there might still be some changes. Considering what College Board is saying today, these are my recommendations for now if you are planning on using this time to prepare for the test.
- Focus on studying all of the chapters that we have covered. The good news is that nothing that we have covered has been eliminated from the test. As of now, the chapters we have not covered, 16, 17, and 18 (College Board units 8 & 9) won't be on the exam. They are very important chapters and I still want to cover them if we ever get back to school. For now, you can put the Chapter 16 study guide aside until we receive more direction.
- Wait until April 3 to see what additional details regarding the test are released by College Board. We have not covered chapters 5 & 6 Sensation & Perception (College Board unit 3). These two chapters represent the lowest percentage of questions on the exam, which is why I pushed them to the end. Worst case scenario, you may have to tackle these two on your own. The powerpoints for these chapters are on here if you want to take a look. However, you may want to sit tight and wait to see what they do.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Harris

Sincerely,
Mrs. Harris
